Research Integrity, Human Review and Conduct

This declaration governs ziviDomeLive as research software and as a research-creation artifact in art and technology. It complements the technical evidence map; it does not replace institutional ethics review, applicable law, peer review or the assessment required by a funding body or publisher.

Commitment, not external certification

The references below establish the principles adopted by the project. Their citation does not imply endorsement, certification or supervision of ziviDomeLive by CNPq, UFRB, UFMG, Processing, ALLEA or the World Conferences on Research Integrity.

Normative and ethical framework

The project adopts the applicable principles of:

• the CNPq Scientific Activity Integrity Policy — CNPq Ordinance no. 2,664 of 6 March 2026 and the CNPq research-integrity guidelines, including disclosure of generative AI, full responsibility for final content, traceable stewardship of code and research materials, accurate citation and contribution-based authorship;
• the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity, particularly honesty, accountability, professional courtesy, fairness and responsible stewardship;
• the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity, 2023 revised edition, particularly reliability, honesty, respect and accountability; and
• institutional rules and Brazilian or international law that actually apply to a particular activity, jurisdiction or collaboration, including ethics, non-discrimination, accessibility, privacy and data protection, intellectual property and authors' rights.

The international documents above are integrity frameworks, not a claim that every foreign statute applies to this Brazilian project.

Project commitments

ziviDomeLive commits to:

• prohibit fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, deceptive omission and manipulation of evidence;
• keep claims proportional to source code, tests, executable examples, declared methods and physically recorded qualification;
• preserve versioned code, metadata, protocols and release evidence with enough provenance for verification and correction;
• cite primary sources where possible and distinguish direct evidence, inference, interpretation and incomplete evidence;
• define responsibilities early, credit every relevant contribution and reserve formal authorship for significant intellectual contribution;
• disclose funding, institutional context, conflicts of interest, prior dissemination and material use of generative AI;
• require the appropriate institutional review before any future work involving human participants, animals, personal data or other ethically sensitive material; and
• correct material errors promptly and preserve a transparent record when a correction, retraction or change of conclusion is necessary.

Artistic and practice-based research may include situated, subjective and experimental knowledge. That specificity must be described rather than presented as universal evidence; it does not waive provenance, consent, credit, methodological clarity or the distinction between artistic interpretation and technical measurement.

Declaration by the author and research coordinator

OpenAI Codex has been used assistively under the direction of Prof. Dr. Victor Hugo Soares Valentim during the 2.0 work for codebase analysis, implementation and refactoring support, test and documentation development, and validation workflow execution. The author declares that he has reviewed the resulting code, documentation, tests, technical and research claims, references and release materials in full; understands and approves the final decisions; and accepts full human responsibility for the content and for research and development in art and technology. The AI system is not an author and cannot receive scholarly credit or accountability.

This declaration applies to the 2.0 research-and-development record represented by this repository. Every later release, artwork, dataset, report or paper must disclose its own tool use and undergo a new human review appropriate to that artifact.

Current research team and credit

The current institutional research context is Arte, Codificação e Imersão: pesquisa-criação, open-source e ecossistemas audiovisuais imersivos, selected under PIBITI/UFRB Call no. 05/2026:

• Coordinator: Prof. Dr. Victor Hugo Soares Valentim;
• Undergraduate scholarship collaborator: Tiago Silva Rosa — CECULT/UFRB;
• Undergraduate scholarship collaborator: David Siqueira de Araujo — CECULT/UFRB.

Their collaboration must be recorded according to the work performed. Release authorship, contributor metadata and citations must be updated when the relevant contribution satisfies the project's authorship or credit criteria; scholarship status alone neither grants nor removes authorship.

Community conduct

The canonical ziviDomeLive Code of Conduct is inspired by the Processing 4 Code of Conduct. It welcomes contributions beyond code, requires respectful and inclusive participation, prohibits harassment and retaliation, protects private information and connects community behavior to research integrity and fair credit.

AI-assisted contributions must identify the tool and purpose. A human submitter must understand, test, review and accept responsibility for every submitted change, consistent with the human-accountability principle in the Processing 4 AI Usage Policy.

Reports, corrections and questions

Use GitHub Issues for non-sensitive, reproducible concerns. If a public report would expose personal, confidential or safety-sensitive material, contact the maintainer through victorvalentim.com instead. Institutional and legal reporting channels take precedence where applicable.
